The Burton Emerald snowboard boots have been on the market for a while now. They are popular for being a solid all-mountain boot that will fit well with many different ridings styles and ability levels. Last 2015 – 2016 season Burton gave these boots their Speed Lacing system. This allows the boot to wrap well around your foot, while offering better support without being much stiffer. This boot has a nice medium flex, which provides a good balance between response and a forgiving ride. It can generate a much more quicker turning imitation than other boots we tested. This is especially nice when you’re turning and carving your way around the slopes.
Although Burton is reducing the thickness of the boot’s footbed, there is still enough shock absorption to keep you comfortable. The boot’s sole offers good traction on most common surfaces. One icy snow we missed some traction but not substantial enough to consider it a flaw. Overall, the Burton Emerald snowboard boots offer great value for money. With its all-round capabilities and its comfortable responsive fit, this boot will make many riders happy. Especially those who like to combine all-mountain rides with occasional freestyle. These boots are definitely a smart buy!
