Co-owner Brad Richmond had to remortgage his house to start StepChild Snowboards in early 2000. Back then the company had two riders on its team. Co-owner Sean Johnson and Graydon Kavanagh. But after a few months, Graydon decided to put his snowboarding career on hold and start his own construction company. However, StepChild was able to sign a young Simon Chamberlain for only 500 Dollars and three snowboards. Together with Simon they were rocketing the StepChild brand to new exposure.
StepChild Snowboards are the choice for the fridge kids and jibbers across the globe. From day one the company has been owned and operated by snowboarders, who still actually snowboard. They are committed to building awesome boards that will fit your riding style and favorite terrain.
