Designed by the Godfather of freeriding, the 2017 Burton CK Nug snowboard celebrates Craig Kelly’s legacy for innovation. This board is fully cambered and features a squashed shape with a wider platform. This allows riders to size down in board length without compromising on performance and floatation. Directional in shape but with a medium symmetrical flex this board will change the way you approach your local mountain.
This board is new for this season and it’s definitely a nice one to add to your quiver. It replaces the outgoing Burton Nug with a design that combines short board maneuverability with a powerful camber. On snow, you will notice that the board’s wider shape makes it more maneuverable on powder. The medium-soft flex gives a surfy and playful feel while remaining responsive enough to also handle technical terrain. It planes nicely on powder and on groomers.
When turning this board feels quick and snappy from edge-to-edge, making tight carves fun. Not like the Custom X and Flight Attendant but impressive considering this board’s size. On uneven terrain, this board is not a tank but instead likes to weave in and out of bumps. For the average rider, this board does provide some fun on the smaller jumps. Overall, the 2017 Burton CK Nug offers a playful approach to winter riding and this snowboard will keep you smiling all day long.
