Expand your versatility and enhance your ability with the 2017 Burton Deja Vu Flying V: a snowboard that combines the control of camber with the catch-free feeling of a rocker. Being on the market since 2011, this Burton board belongs to one of many favourites that stick around. Often called the ‘all-wheel drive’ of women all-mountain snowboards, this board is quite a versatile machine that allows you to shred down the mountain in pretty much all conditions.
Its personality is somewhat mellow, but intuitive and easy to ride making it accessible to all kinds of riders from beginners to expert snowboarders. Similar to last season this board’s smooth rocker profile provides lots of surfy playfulness through deep powder. Meanwhile upward pointed tips limit submerging. The subtle camber underfoot combined with the True Twin shape keeps you in control with lots of power and pop. Special Side Effects lengthen the board’s contact points to create a forgiving feel. Its edge control allows hard charging snowboarders to take on technical mountain terrain with finesse.
Especially on softer snow this board rides really stable making a powder day easy to handle. On harder snow this board get’s more loos and playful. The team at Burton knows how to add some ‘pop’ to a board and this one is no exception. At lower speeds it allows you to play around, while providing a nice amount of pop for small to medium jumps. This particular board has so-called Scoop Tips. These accentuate a board’s skate-like feel when you’re treating the mountain like a terrain park. While this board is nicely balanced, at high speeds we did notice some occasional chatter.
Overall this all-mountain freestyle snowboard will give you that familiar reliable feel. Whether you are lapping the peaks, playing in the park or getting your first turns in for the day. The 2017 Burton Deja Vu Flying V snowboard makes fun the number one priority. This board comes with many of Burton’s best technologies and it’s definitely a keeper in our own collection.
