Review
Being far from a one-trick-pony, the 2017 Burton Trick Pony snowboard is build to inspire creativity. For park riders who also like pow. With its True Twin shape, a particularly wide outline, and a poppy camber profile this board is ready for both park and powder adventures. Its medium flex will hold you down on the jump line and prevents you from washing out after a ditch in nature’s foam pit. The flat zones outside your feet, combined with the board’s early rise at the tip and tail will give you improved control and ollie power in either direction, while still letting you float effortlessly in soft conditions.
For this new season, this board has gone through some major upgrades. One of them is the Hybrid Camber setup that aims to provide you with a more playful catch-free ride. On snow, it feels different than the previous Flat to Rocker setup. It feels good underfoot with a nice amount of pop. It allows you to ride a bit more aggressive. Edge hold has also improved, as this board now grips well on harder snow. Turning is now much more fun. While it’s not the quickest it does respond well to your movement.
We were quite surprised how fast this board can ride while remaining stable and comfortable. If you are a hard charger then you will not be disappointed. For little jumps this board springs off nicely, allowing you to take on some natural mountain features. Overall, the upgraded definitely gave the 2017 Burton Trick Pony snowboard a boost. As it’s now a great all-around all-mountain freestyle board. Some say it’s a bit of a niche but, you can still have a great time.
