As one of the most popular snowboards for women worldwide, the 2017 CAPiTA Birds Of A Feather snowboard has returned for yet another season. This CAPiTA board is build to offer a fun ride for women who prefer a more centered stance and ride switch a lot. And who prefer to go for a more aggressive drive around their local mountain resort and park. Thanks to always focussing on improving it’s design and construction, this board has grown to a premier all-terrain freestyle deck.
Its design features a True Twin shape combined with a Hybrid Camber profile. However this profile is more aggressive than other hybrids on the market, because it’s predominately camber. With special camber zones running underfoot, closely to the inserts. After the inserts large flat zones transition into a subtle rocker just before the board’s tip and tail. This combination delivers a powerful edge-hold and aggressive feel. New for this season is the board’s core which gives a consistently smooth flex from tip-to-tail. On snow, this board offers a fun, wild ride. Although less forgiving it remains controllable in a variety of conditions. It has got a pretty good spring in and out of the turn and get’s up to speed quite easily. On groomers this board planes nicely, but on deep powder it did sink in. You will need some experience to keep it floating well consistently.
The edge hold is good for moderate conditions but when the snow get’s harder or icy this board did lose some of its grip as it tried to slide underfoot. Overall, the 2017 CAPiTA Birds Of Feather snowboard offers a decent ride that many all-mountain freestylers like. Although some minor improvements can make it even better, this women’s board still lives up to its fame.
