As Women’s Rider of the Year, Jess Kimura knows a thing or two about snowboarding and especially what ladies need when looking for an all-mountain freestyle board. Together with the design gurus at CAPiTA, she designed the 2017 CAPiTA Jess Kimura Pro snowboard. It’s build for the ladies who like to jump natural features, to hike down rails and refuse to lose. This go-anywhere, rip-anything snowboard features a True Twin shape combined with an advanced Hybrid Camber profile.
Precision is the name of the game when it comes to this setup. Camber underfoot provides the pinpoint control needed to ride at high speed. Just after the inserts, this board transitions into zero camber, which adds stability and enhanced pop. A subtle rocker is placed just before the board’s tip and tail, which enables a fun and playful feel. It also improves float on fresh powder. On snow, this board feels spot on. It’s very responsive and lively. Because of its stiffness, it’s not super playful but presses like a beast. However, you can still enjoy a nice carve and cruise around the mountain. It takes off natural hits easily and with confidence while riding nimble through the trees.
Overall, the 2017 CAPiTA Jess Kimura Pro snowboard truly works as an all-around deck that performs really well on all types of mountain terrain. However, you will need to have enough experience to be able to enjoy this snowboard to its full potential. The board’s top sheet features a design by the artist and legend of snowboarding, Peter Line.
