If you are looking for a deck that rides stable at high speed and takes your jumps to new heights, then grab the 2017 CAPiTA Outsiders snowboard. With more pop than a juiced-up baseball player and truly unique topsheet art this CAPiTA board is bound to be a success this season. However this board is not for everyone as it will mostly appeal to the more aggressive all-mountain freestyler that is looking for a powerful board that’s available at a moderate price level.
This board’s design features a True Twin shape with a Mostly Camber profile. Mellow camber zones that run from insert to insert provide a reliable amount of edge hold and pop. The small flat zones placed at the board’s tip and tail give it a more predictable and forgiving feel. The main advantage of this setup is that it will allow you to have the confidence you need to improve your skills. Without compromising on performance like many other boards do. This board has a slightly stiffer flex than the CAPiTA Ultrafear and is fitted with carbon stringers. These enhance the board’s response and power without adding unnecessary weight.
On snow, this board feels ‘locked in’ even at high speed. On rough terrain you can definitely feel it’s stiffer flex as the board becomes less comfortable. Turning however is lot’s of fun. It feel snappy and goes quick from edge to edge. The board’s edge hold is good but it could use a bit more. Especially when you enjoy carving in all-kinds of conditions. Like a true twin board should this one switched nicely. Because of this board’s amount of pop you can really take on small to medium jumps and have a lot of fun. Overall, we quite liked the 2017 CAPiTA Outsiders snowboard. It’s fun to turn, to go fast and to jump around.
