The GNU Swallow Tail Carver is a freeride snowboard built for experienced riders who want a very versatile and fun board. Back in the old days when snowboarding was forbidden on most ski resorts, the main design influence came from surfing. This board first appeared in 1983 and has been given a modern makeover by GNU for the 2015/16 season. Immediately noticeable are its deep sidecuts, swallow tail and the board’s pointy nose. It also has camber under foot and a rocker section at the waist. This allows the board to dig into carves and keeps the nose up in powder. It can also handle groomers really well. It rides stable, it’s quick from edge to edge and offers some good mountain speed. The Gnu Swallow Tail Carver is a good choice for those who are looking for a snowboard with a forgiving freeride feel.
