Review
As the most playful, freestyle-oriented deck in the company’s women collection, the 2017 Jones Twin Sister snowboard is built for the ladies who like to take the most creative line down the mountain. For this new season, the design team at Jones has updated the board’s Master Wood Core to give it, even more, pop and power than before. This allows you to put more emphasis on each freestyle feature.
Based on the award-winning Directional Twin shape and mid-flexing feel of the well-known Jones Mountain Twin. This board enables a freestyle performance ideal for carving groomers, cruising powder and jumping in the park. The board’s Hybrid Camber profile has a subtle camber underfoot for edge hold and a powerful response. Combined with rocker at the tip and tail for added float and a catch-free feel. The board’s core is build out of two types of different wood, to get the right balance between lightness and strength. On snow, the board has the same personality as the men’s version but with specific women sizing. As it rides consistently in all conditions it’s really a board that can boost your confidence. Its versatility allows it to enjoy both groomers and powder. It rides stable with a good amount of float.
When comparing to last season’s you have to put in some extra work in your turns, however, this board is still quite easy and quick from edge-to-edge. It doesn’t have that loose feel, which makes carving really fun. It’s not the fastest board in town, but it’s good at any speed. Stable and without chatter. We encountered some hard bumpy terrain and this board kept tracking really well. The edge hold is good in harder conditions and doesn’t grip too much of soft snow. Overall, the 2017 Jones Twin Sister snowboard is a true ultra-versatile deck that can make just about anything possible. Its consistent performance makes it one of our favorite all-mountain snowboards for women.
