The Salomon Gypsy is an all-mountain freestyle snowboard that recently received the 2016 Good Wood Award by Transworld Snowboarding Magazine. Over the last two years Salomon updated the board in a couple of areas. It has a new hybrid camber, which gives it more pop and improved carving. The board’s flex in the tip and tail is now softer which makes it pretty playful. However when it comes to floating on powder the older Gypsy is better. This new version may be more springy and fun but we noticed it’s not that quick edge to edge. Picking up speed goes well and has an around feel. Overall the Salomon Gypsy has a solid all-mountain freestyle feel, built for the strong and technical rider.
